Dexerto are looking for a Games Writer to write and update evergreen articles in the English language.
The content you will produce will be for Dexerto’s English language website, so fluency is essential.
This is a position for a video games expert who has some experience of writing for a professional publication. You should possess excellent knowledge of the biggest video games, both old and new. That means everything from Elden Ring, Last of Us and Cyberpunk to recent hits such as Hogwarts Legacy and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
This is a varied role that will give you the chance to develop your skills in many different ways. Your main task will be to update and write compelling guides, ensuring that they are formatted to effectively answer readers’ searches. You’ll utilize data provided by our SEO Manager to optimize articles for specific keywords while working with our editors to ensure content is of a high standard.
Other responsibilities may include helping to prepare reports for meetings, administrative tasks, and assigning updates to other writers.
We are looking for an organized person with great time management skills, who is able to confidently research and write about a variety of topics. You’ll be expected to use content management systems and spreadsheets, so you will need to be comfortable with technology and be able to pick up new working practices quickly. Writing experience, understanding of SEO practices, basic photo editing skills, and familiarity with Google Sheets would also be desirable.
Requirements:

- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail – able to spot grammatical errors and formatting mistakes
- Great communication skills – able to take instruction and keep various members of the team updated on progress
- Own computing equipment that can run Photoshop or similar programs
- Able to work full-time hours (40) without other education or job commitments
- Experience with Google Sheets and content management systems, photo editing skills, and SEO knowledge is desirable, but not essential
- Some writing experience is desirable
