We're looking for an experienced Features Editor to join our editorial team in creating compelling content that celebrates key moments throughout the year, from Christmas to Halloween, Pride Month to Black History Month, Summer Games Festival to ComicCon.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pop Culture Aficionado: Demonstrate an excellent knowledge of pop culture, including TV, Movies, Gaming, and a willingness to learn and stay aware of other verticals, such as tech and influencers.
- Creative Idea Generator: Be a voracious consumer of media and bring a plethora of fresh, innovative ideas to the table.
- Collaborative Team Player: Collaborate closely with Dexerto's Editors to brainstorm ideas and accept pitches from writers. Plan and execute feature content, sometimes spanning different verticals, while setting and managing deadlines.
- Commissioning: Find talented freelancers and work closely with them to produce engaging and high quality features that captivate our audience.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with our commercial team to ensure that editorial content is produced on time and meets client expectations.
- Exceptional Writing and Editing: Exhibit outstanding writing and editing skills to ensure the highest editorial standards are maintained.
- SEO and Analytics: Utilise your knowledge of SEO and analytics to optimise content for search and track performance metrics.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Features Editor or Senior Features Writer.
- A portfolio of published work demonstrating exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Strong understanding of SEO principles and content analytics.
- Ability to manage writers, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively.
- Passion for pop culture and a keen eye for emerging trends.
