The Role:
The Social Media Producer is responsible for creating high-quality, social-first video content for some of Australia’s most recognisable brands and creators across Always On and campaign-based work.
This role is hands-on and craft-led, with a strong focus on shooting, editing and delivering platform-native content that feels culturally relevant, timely and built for performance. The Social Media Producer plays a key role in bringing ideas to life, from early concept through to final publish, while ensuring every piece of content meets brand, platform and quality standards.
Working closely with Senior Social Media Producers, Creative and Production teams, the Social Media Producer contributes to ideation, execution and optimisation across major brand accounts, while building sharp creative judgement, deep platform fluency and confidence delivering work at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Shoot and edit short-form social video content for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube Shorts
- Execute Always On and campaign content from brief through to publish
- Apply platform-native storytelling, pacing, hooks and editing styles
- Assist with scriptwriting, shotlists, creative references and content planning
- Implement feedback across edit rounds clearly and efficiently
- Upload, schedule and publish content once approved
- Maintain content calendars, delivery trackers and documentation
- Ensure all content meets brand, platform and quality standards
- Support reactive and trend-led content where appropriate
- Track content performance and apply learnings to future execution
- Collaborate with creators, editors and internal teams to deliver content
- Maintain organised workflows across tools such as Notion and Frame.io
- Flag delivery risks, blockers or quality concerns early
- Participate in brainstorms, WIPs and creative reviews
- Contribute positively to studio culture and team collaboration
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience producing social-first content for brands, publishers or creators
- Proven ability to shoot and edit short-form video content for platforms such as TikTok and Instagram
- Strong understanding of platform-native storytelling, pacing and hooks
- Experience working within structured internal workflows and project management systems (e.g. Notion, Metricool, Frame.io or similar)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables, timelines and approvals simultaneously
- Comfortable reading and interpreting social performance data, including views, watch time, engagement and retention
- Ability to apply performance insights to improve future content decisions
- Professional experience working with clients or external stakeholders, with clear, respectful communication
- Strong attention to detail and accountability in delivery
- Collaborative, proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
- Solid understanding of internet culture, creators and trends
- Calm, organised and dependable under pressure
